Smart Savers is a smart thermostat program that rewards you for reducing your energy use during periods of high demand. You save on your electricity bill by participating in Smart Savers events year-round, which also helps us maintain the reliability of the energy grid. You must be a DTE Energy residential or small business electric customer, have in-home Wi-Fi and central air conditioning or an air source heat pump to participate.
Upon enrollment, you agree to participate in Smart Savers Events, that will occur only on weekdays (no holidays) for up to four hours at a time between 12 p.m. - 8 p.m. You can anticipate up to 56 event hours year-round. During an event, your thermostat will never be adjusted by more than four degrees above your current setpoint.
By completing your purchase and installing your thermostat,you are eligible to receive a $50 bill credit, payable beginning in October 2025*. Your continued participation will result in a $50 bill credit annually.

- Agree to install the thermostat within 60 days of receiving it
- Agree to participate in Smart Savers events
- Agree to program Terms and Conditions
*Device must be purchased and installed by September 1, 2025, in order to be eligible for the October 2025 bill credit. Any device purchases and installations after September 1 will be eligible for the October 2026 bill credit.
